A wedding rehearsal dinner is usually an informal meal after the wedding rehearsal. The rehearsal usually takes place the night before the actual wedding. This is where both sides of the family can get to know each other better in a causal setting. It is also a chance for the bride and groom to thank all the people who helped make their wedding possible.

It is not necessary to have a rehearsal dinner, but it is a nice way to spend the evening before your wedding. Traditionally, the groom’s parents pay for the dinner. However, nowadays you will often see the bride and groom paying for the dinner. Sometimes both sets of parents will host a wedding rehearsal dinner together.

First, the wedding party meets at the site of the ceremony to run through the details of the wedding process. Then when everyone is finished and knows where and what they have to do in the wedding you go to a prearrange place to enjoy a meal together. The place could be a restaurant, pub or some ones home.

A rehearsal dinner gives the bride and groom time to relax and forget about the upcoming nuptials and to enjoy the company of their friends and loved ones. The rehearsal dinner has become a common tradition in weddings. This does not mean that you have to have one; it is just a fun thing to do.

Traditionally the groom’s mother plans the dinner. You might want to check with your soon to be mother in law and see if she would like to plan it. This is a way for her to feel she is a part of the wedding by hosting the rehearsal dinner.

This is a time for fun and celebration. The bride and groom will thank everyone and toast their families and the wedding party. This can be a time for toasting the bride and groom and maybe roasting them a little. You can also have games or other activities. This is also a good time to present your bridesmaids and groomsmen with their gifts.

Your rehearsal dinner doesn’t have to be at a fancy restaurant or an elegant affair. It can be a backyard barbeque. It used to be a party for only the wedding party and immediate family of the bride and groom. Now it is more of a bigger celebration and can include out of town guests who are here for the wedding. Even though everyone in the wedding party should be included in the rehearsal dinner that doesn’t mean that you can’t invite who you want to be there. There are no strict rules or etiquette to follow, the decision is totally up to you.

This is a great way to relax and enjoy every ones company before the big day. This is a good time to catch up and visit with people who live out of town and are here only for your wedding. You can use this time to make sure you thank everyone who has helped make this a wedding of your dreams.
